In your 40s, the ravages of time start to show up, but you also have a lot of things figured out for the first time in your life. As a late bloomer (who just became a parent!), it took me until my 40s to figure out some basic things about life, so it's an okay trade-off. You wouldn't trade places with a 30-year-old. But now that we're in the back half of our 50s, I have less patience with younger people sometimes.
