0:00 The end of the boat has, there's a little swim platform and there's like a railing, but it's like a, almost like a U-shaped, upside down U-pole. Okay, yeah. Right, so it's just you grab it when you're getting on and off the boat. Well, it's like the height of the, it's like just a little bit taller than the baby. Okay. So baby Josie's in her little swimsuit and she's standing there and she's holding on to it. And she's dancing, like there's music playing and she's dancing. And I hear one of the people that we're with say something along the lines of, oh, he better, like, basically like, I should be worried.

0:41 Okay. And I look, and then I look at it, of course, and then I immediately make the connection that my lovely wife does not, which is, it looks like a stripper pole. It's a baby-sized stripper pole. Oh my God, and she's dancing with the music. She's holding on to it, dancing, and I'm like, oh no. That's hilarious. I turned around, I'm like, trust me. Dude, that story went so different than I thought. I was like, she was in danger because the thing was going to fall. That's hilarious. I also have to show you, maybe I'll put up a picture with her face right now. But yeah, she's got her cute little, you know, swimming costume on. Oh my God, training, no, getting stopped. We were all excited the last time we recorded because it was only three weeks in between recording. We did say some funny things about recording time. We were going to do better with that. That was June 25th and today is August 11th, something like that. So we did good. Sure. July just went completely gone. But we're back and we're going to, and I didn't even like.

2:06 Better than ever, that's what they say. Back and better than ever, which is a low bar, but it's okay. We'll have fun. But as always, I am Frank Sirio. I am still for another month or so, 56 years old. And my little girl, baby Josie is a little over 17 months old. It's very hard. It's very hard to understand. I haven't seen her since June and it's like, wow. She was in her little occadial thing in the kitchen, which we will talk about. That's a new acquisition. But yeah, it's crazy. The time is just absolutely flying by and.

2:49 Summer is flying by, flew by. Yes. And changes are, yeah. Don't say flew. It's not gone yet. I know. We got another. By the time they see this. By the time, yeah. It'll probably fall by well into fall. Merry Christmas. Yes. This is our pre, this is our Christmas episode. We're just kidding. This will be out there. I forgot my hat. But yeah, we got, it's been, it's been very busy, but you've been traveling all over the place. Yeah. I had a busy, busy July. So all over the. West coast, east coast. Vacation with the family. Another vacation in two days with my immediate family and then back on the road. So yeah, it's been crazy, but it's good. It's good. It's good to be busy in a good way. Yes. In a nice way. Yeah, that's true.

3:29 So we're going to dive in as we often do with the book report that is not a book report. So here we are with book report. So this time, another website that I have not been a frequenter of called cafe mom.com. And the article was about famous people. And usually I read those and I just roll my eyes. Cause we're not in it. No, cause it's never, it's never us. We're serving the coffee. And it's always something crazy. Like, you know, why, you know, Kelsey Grammer has 17 children at 73 or whatever. I love Kelsey Grammer.

4:10 Allegedly. Yes. But this one was the title. The article was Dax Shepard says he's raising entitled and disrespectful kids. And I thought, okay. Was he handed them like at 11 and 13 years old? They gave it to them at that age. They are. No, they raised them. He raised them. Oh, okay. And the article was basically a story. It was recounted that he was visiting with some friends in Nashville and his children were so disrespectful of like the servers and the restaurant and of, of their parents that the friend was kind of like, Hey, wow, your kids really let it rip.

4:56 They got embarrassed. But his response was that this is somehow by design. He is intentionally raising these two girls. Two girls. Two girls. Their names are Lincoln and Delta. Wow. Very nice. 11 and 13 years old. And apparently frightening, you know, service, service staff and friends, because they're so disrespectful and, and his, his take on it was, which I thought was interesting was the quote was when, when they're 19 years old and their boss is a creep, I want them to be disrespectful. Wow. And I thought.

5:37 That can't backfire at all. You know, first of all, his wife's name is Kristen Bell. Okay. First of all, I have a problem with Zach Shepard because how that man landed that woman is beyond. She seems very nice and funny and put together. Intelligent, funny. Everything. Incredible voice. Yeah. She's like, she's a very talented person. Multi-talented woman. And then he's just. And then there's him. Right. So whatever, like, God bless him. I don't know how he did that, but good for you. But this just seems so at thinking about it as, look, I'm raising a little girl. I don't want, you know, we putting myself in that situation when she's 19 and her boss is a creep.

6:22 I want her to be able to handle herself. But what, when you, when you have 11 and 13 year old little girls who are rude to people to the point and rude to their parents to that point, doesn't he think like in my mind, the first place that I go to is if they are pushing their way through life at 11 and 13, by the time they get to 19, you're going to say exactly what I'm thinking. They're going to, they're going to be only attracted to the guy who pushes back. And that's the real creep that you got to worry about. The only thing I think of is when you said this is they're going to be the creepy employer.

7:02 Yeah. They're going to be the one that's going to be creeping people out the way they act. They're going to be the Ellen's and the ones that you can't, you know what I mean? They're going to be the boss that pretend to be. They're going to be the people that you're thinking you're protecting them against. They're going to be that person. Yeah. People have to be protected against them. And I think young women like that are drawn to the wrong guy because they're the only, because a nice guy is going to see that and turn around and run the other way. Yeah. So I think it's, I just think it says, first of all, I think he's doing an awful disservice to his, to his daughters. And it's also just one of those things that when you, when people package what I see that as somebody who is packaging their unwillingness to do what's difficult as a strategy.

You're not smart enough and disciplined enough to put guardrails around your daughter so that they can be respectful and kind and not push over. I believe he made that up at that moment. Yeah. Cause that doesn't make any sense. He was embarrassed. It makes no sense at all. No, that was a lie. You made that up because you got embarrassed. Right. First of all, if you're worried about your daughters, you generally put them into like karate or some kind of self defense so they can, you know, they don't have to work. They can fight themselves off. And then the smarter they are, the quicker they're going to realize, oh, that's a creep. I need, you know what I mean? Yeah. And ultimately what that comes down to it also, there's a little bit of, you would think a new agey Hollywood type is going to be thinking about karma that if they're putting that out into the world growing up, when are they going to get back?

Oh, I'm going to, I'm training them for a boss. That's a little bit creepy. Yeah. Yeah. So Dax, weak T dude. You can be better. Better than your acting, better than your movies. We ask you to be better. Whatever they come up with chips to. And they will. And they will. So we're decks, um, fans. Yeah. I've Kristen, Kristen. I never really think of him. She's like, I love her. The good place. One of my favorite shows. A very funny.

Tax Shepherd says he's raising and entitled and disrespectful kids. So thumbs up. That is such a lame response because it's like, you know, you're not doing that. You're letting them do it because you don't want a parent. You're lazy. You're lazy. Yeah. You don't want to do the hard work. That was the other article I was thinking about talking about was it's another one on screens and it's, but surprising statistics again, under two, 40% of parents of kids that are under two say that their kid is getting at least an hour of screen time a day.

10:12 And all of the, like all of the literature, all the studies, all the behavioral stuff is none, none. They should have none of that. But I figured that was even worse. They're just getting ready for a bad, creepy boss. That's right. That's why they're watching. Yeah. We planned it for the parents of the year. Property brothers. Cause by the time they're 13, they'll be able to do our kitchen. Come on. That's what we're saying is you need to listen to this podcast. Yes. And we can teach you guys something. Yeah. And the beautiful bell. He's all buff now. He's buff. So he probably kicked my ass. Oh, I'm sure he's. Yeah, he'll, yeah.

11:38 So we mentioned right off the bat, like right after we recorded last time, I went into the first and probably most important job of a father, which is to assemble all the crap that comes to the house. And I assembled the Akadile. So the Akadile is our choice, which is, I think, a very good choice of one of these, essentially it's a workstation. It's an adjustable toddler stool for the kitchen. So it has a couple of adjustable steps. She can climb up in there herself. And then you like slide in a little thing so she can't escape. And she's perfectly at counter height.

12:21 And I put that together and that thing has been awesome. Like she, yeah, she, she loves being in it. She, every morning when I make breakfast, she helps me make breakfast. She does her little thing. She's, she is definitely, I think you can already see she likes being involved. She enjoys helping. She will like, I will, I'll be cutting up, I'll cut up a pepper and I'll cut the little seeds out and I'll hand it to her and she'll just hold it. And then I'm like, okay, throw it away. I'll take her over. She throws it away and then I'll put a couple eggs in. Okay. I'll give her a fork and she bangs around in there trying to, she doesn't have a good whisking motion yet, but she's, she's getting there. So that's, uh, that was, that was a great, great purchase.

13:03 And we use it. We use it all the time. Although it is like another thing you got out. You got to just navigate around in the kitchen. Don't you love when you find stuff like that, that changes. So like for the good, it's like, oh my God, now we can do this. And now she can see this. And now she can, things like that. When you, when you fall into products like that, just change that whole time frame for the better. Big, big game changer. And then also then, then you have to also adjust so that she can, Cause I put, I set her up. I'm like, this is perfect. And then she's like within inches of the knife. Oh yeah. Knives. Now we have to move these, but yeah, no stuff like that. Cause yeah. Anything that keeps her involved and engaged and, and, and, and getting her to experiment and try, try new stuff.

13:48 And she likes it. A lot of times, honestly, like we'll be fixing stuff and she'll just start, like she'll want to eat her breakfast there. You know, it works. I think she prefers it to the, to the, the, yeah. What do you call it? The, the, we have a parenting podcast. Yes. And the high chair, the high chair is escaping. Yes. The high chair. She prefers it to high chair. The, the big transition that happened early on after we record last time was. We had talked about how we had weaned her off of nursing at night. And the sleep training was going very well. That has continued. And she's, she's sleeping really well.

14:29 Getting to bed easier. It's super cute now. Cause this morning she, I hear she wakes up and I hear she gets up and she's like, and she basically asked, she's like, Lala, Lala is water. What is it? Lala. Lala. Lala. Lala. She's Lala. Kelly good. Brings her over. Gives her a glass. She takes a drink and then she plops. She just lays back down, goes back to sleep. But then right after that, and this was ahead of schedule. I was a little, I was a little concerned because we had set up the goal of by the end of June. To be done with breastfeeding. Okay. And so it was like, you know, crumbling up and I was like, gee, I guess we're not gonna, we might not make that, you know, make that goal.

15:17 And Kelly's like, oh no, she's ready. And by the end of the month, yeah. So big, big transition there. Yeah. It was like, took a little, took a little. For both, mommy and baby. Yeah. But good transition. It took a little, you know, she was a little like what's going on, but completely within a week. It was completely a non, non-issue. Yep. And we were on to. We'll never remember that ever again. Probably not. I don't know if I was or not, but you won't remember. No, it's yeah. So that really was, was great. Can you see a big change after this?

15:58 How long has it been now? Well, it was, it was by July 1st. So it's been about a month. Oh, so, okay. And I think it's gone well. Like there's been some ups and downs with, again, she is, she has this natural affinity for fruits and vegetables and low calorie, high water. Baby, baby, baby. So I think what we're trying to do lately is make sure she doesn't get that stuff before she gets the protein, right? Because she'll just fill those. It'll be like, yeah. And then she doesn't eat the other stuff, but yeah. So that, that really went very, very well. Nice. Yeah. Very happy, happy with that.

16:40 So we were kind of rolled through that after the, we recorded last time we went to, we ended up going out for a weekend and not for a while, just for a day. But that weekend we ended up going, taking the boat down to Selvin beach, which was a lot of fun. I had not been there. There's a nice, you know, I don't know. Have you ever go down there? Yeah. Lately? No, but I know. Yeah. I know it very well. So, you know, there's an area, there's kind of two areas on the lake that we have the boat where people anchor up. There's three mile Bay where it's like the young crazy party people. And then Selvin beach is a little bit more, the people are still having fun, but it's more family oriented.

17:21 So I happened to reach out to a guy who worked for me a long time ago at circuit city in new Hartford, New York, long time ago. And he lives in Rome. So he lives on the other end of the lake and I, and he happened to be going out and is familiar. And I hadn't been down there by boat and to the beach in a long time. So we just, we're getting there. And I got on the radio and, and called for him and he was like right in front of me. I didn't realize it. He was just pulling in. So we were able to pull in and tie up with, tie up with him and two other friends.

18:01 And then it's kind of like a flotilla build. So it was like a, a group of like eight or 10 boats all together. And we just hung out for the afternoon. It was great. Did you pair up at one of the restaurants? I know the casino there has all the, we can point you right up there. At the end of the day, we went, we took the boat around to the wall and then walked and went and got some, we got up some pizza. Yeah. Yeah. It was nice, but it was a great day as a kid. Oh really? As a kid, as a, as a young adult at the pizza shop. Okay. So I knew that. Yeah, it was good. I would go to the, uh, so if you don't know what we're talking about, it's a little, uh, beach town. Yeah. Um, it's about what? 40 minutes. Not even.

18:41 Yeah. It's about 10 miles long and we live on the Eastern end. And so at summertime they have a little amusement park there. Yeah. It's been around forever. Yeah. Um, so, uh, yeah. Come join us at Sylvan beach. But, uh, have you been to the casino there? The newer? I have not. Where's the casino? It's called the lighthouse or something. Oh, it's right there. Yeah. Outdoor bar and a beautiful. Yeah. Yeah. So really cool. It's like a time capsule where you feel like, honestly, that's one of the things that was nice is you go there and if you were to look around, you spend a day in a place like that in the summer in upstate New York, you'd think that the, we live on a different planet than the one that you see on the news, right? Everybody's happy.

19:21 Right. It's not like we're all holding hands. Having a great time. There's no troubles. No, especially the absolute, the beaches, the outdoor bars and everybody's kind of doing their life. Yeah. I find that all different kinds of people. I find that to be true everywhere. Yep. I think that's everywhere. And that's what I do for a living. I travel and we have the same discussions with, yeah, we hear about the horror, but every time we go into the cities now, again, I'm not hanging out downtown, right? But most of the places are just like what we are doing. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy. It is. No, but it was really nice.

20:02 The only downside of the whole day, and it's not really a downside, it was actually pretty funny. So we're in the water, we're hanging out, we're all anchored together. There's a couple of nice couples we got to meet through my friend. He could get her away from the pole with music. You got to keep her off the pole. And she's dancing. She was having a great time. How cute though, oh, come on. It was adorable. It was adorable. Actually, it was a fun discovery on the way home. So she loved 80s music, metal. She loves all kinds of music. Well, this is, it's about music actually. So on the way home, we're listening to music on the way home. And it's like, you know, because you're on the other end of the lake, it's maybe a 30 minute ride. And I listened to lots of, and I have played for her over the time.

22:14 Lots of Louie Prima. Oh yeah. But she has been doing this thing. She had been doing this thing for weeks where she would go, she would go, and somehow Kelly got in the, in her head that she was yodeling. Like she was making a yodeling sound. So anytime she said, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu, she would play the Lonely Goat Herd from, from, it's a song from the Sound of Music. Okay. Where they yodel. Oh, I remember. So I heard this a lot. And after a while, I'm like, can we play something else? She's like, well, she asks for it. She says, she asks for it. She also says la la for water.

22:56 Right. So, but then we're right. And a song that I would play for her. It was part of her playlist, which is a Louie Prima song, which is nothing too, nothing's too good for my baby. And he harmonizes with Keely Smith and they go, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu. That wins, that wins. And we play it. And as soon as it came on, when we were listening, she goes, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu. She was asking for Prima, not the Lonely Goat Herd. That's hilarious. So I was, so now, and she loves that. Like now she asks for it all the time. How cute. Yep. So that was kind of fun. On the way home, we discovered that it wasn't the Lonely Goat Herd. That's funny. It was Louie Prima.

23:37 So there was that. Then I think it was that weekend. We went and got the kiddie pool. We went to Costco. Yeah, what is this kiddie pool you speak of? We got a little kiddie pool. Now, just a little, I've been trying to get a pool in this man's backyard for, 15 years, 10 years? It's like the second house. It was the last house. You know what would be great here? Let's not worry about the boat as much. Let's get a pool. Focus on a pool. I almost had him one time. Yeah, you had me close a couple of times. I'm still not done. It's, honestly, so well, you know, she likes, we had the water play table that she loves. She clearly loves water. And so we're like, oh, you know, maybe we'll get a kiddie pool. We went to Costco.

24:18 And of course, there's the one I wanted to get, which was like 15 by 15 with an eight foot dragon and a slide. I'm like, there it is. Like, we got to get- Carlo and the baby will be so happy. And of course, Kelly's like, it says three and up. She's not, oh, okay. So they had a little boring rectangular one. So we got one of those and, you know, filled it up. And we had it in the back. She loves it. We did the same thing. Yeah, she was having, she has a great time. Like, she would cry when we take her out. Like, she just wanted to stay in and play around. It had a little seat so she could kind of sit in the water. But she was having a good time with that. She definitely likes the water. Unfortunately, Rumpel also really likes, Rumpel like jumps in, drinks from it.

25:03 But she really, she likes that stuff and really spent a lot of time those first couple weeks whenever she could get in there, whenever we'd let her get into the kiddie pool. She was in there. Take advantage of it. She continued through, sleeping through the night, which was nice. And that's been like a huge change for both of us, particularly for Kelly. I think she's really grown to... I was going to say, Kelly, that's a whole different... Huge difference. I mean, for her, it's a lot because now it's just like straight through, like 10-hour stretch. She's sleeping. It's one of those moments we spoke up before I have that you're in that moment going, this will never change. I'll never be back to me. And then all of a sudden you are and go, oh, I remember this.

25:47 Yeah, I remember. Things can go back to normal as much as normal could be. I was never complaining. Like I felt like I was doing okay. But now all of a sudden it's like, now I dream again. Like I remember my dream. I wake up and I'm like, yeah, weird dream. I haven't had a dream in six months. I know. So yeah, so that was nice. So then we roll into our normal, what it would have been, I guess a 16-month visit. Okay. So went in for that. And the way it works at Summerwood, as you probably recall, they get you in. There's always like a triage nurse goes in height and weight and head circumference. And we were hopeful because we had some challenges with she's always been like 75th to 85th percentile for height, very tall.

26:35 But she's been teetering around like the bottom, like below where she should be on the curve for weight. So a couple of times they've, you know, tried to, you know, coach us on how to get more calories into her and stuff. But I just think like she is not, it is a tight, like she's lean, and like it doesn't take much. A couple of days you can start to see she's a little skinnier than she should be. But she's just lean and tall. So I've always been more like she seems pretty healthy to me, right? Not to get too personal, but mother and aunt are not the biggest people in the world when I first met them.

27:20 She's one of four siblings. They were all, when they were little, 90th percentile for height and 10th percentile for weight. Surprise. So if she is like her mom, and I think she is, that's it, right? So she got like, she got the best option from her mom, which is tall and thin. And for me, she got stubby legs and a long torso. So, you know. She's going to be a guitarist and she's going to make a podcast. She will. I'm not saying singer because Kelly also is a singer. Yeah, she is a good singer. So we go in and the girl takes her height, measures her height, and she's not in a good mood.

28:02 It was an afternoon appointment. The baby's not? Yeah. And so she's not really cooperating very well. We get a weight and she's like, well, she's 55th percentile for height. And we're like, you know, Kelly and I look at each other like, what happened? How could this be? She's literally in, she's 16 months old and she's in 2T clothes. So we're like, how is she 55th percentile? And then she said something about her, her head circumference measurement was smaller. And I'm like, okay, this has got to be all wrong. But so we go, you know, so we go in. This is not your baby? I'm pretty sure it's still her.

28:44 So we're confused, but we're mostly worried about like, and then she said the weight gain wasn't as much as we would have liked to have heard. Okay, but that could happen. But she didn't tell us the percentile. That could be. They say that all the time. She had just had a big diaper, big diaper. That's what I was like, she just had a, come on. A withdrawal. Right. So, you know, we go in and, of course, then the PA looks at the file, comes in and says, well, you know, it looks like she's, you know, she's shifted a lot and she's looking at the graphs and all of a sudden there's this like downturn. Fifty-five and then smaller circumference. Then she's looking at her and she's like, but she looks really long. And she's really tall.

29:25 Yeah. And so we measure her again. No, 80th percentile. Shut up. Yeah. So she's measured her wrong and did the head circumference, same thing. But the weight was a little bit. She again, for the second time, ticked below, below the line. But I'm like. We're good. I keep and she's like, well, you know, maybe we should try this or that. We want to see you again in two weeks. Like we're going to like we're starving our kids. We couldn't put weight on Natali, my son. We couldn't put weight. People are like, oh, I mean, everything we tried. It was like he was all just skinny and lose weight. And it's fine now. He wishes those days. Yeah.

30:05 Wishes. Yeah. I mean, it's just no. Again, they're doctors. They got numbers. Oh, looks like this is down here and this is up. So at that point, I'm just like, OK, look, we'll try whatever. Right. Like she's never more. We came home and she's like she likes butter. I'm like here. She's like she's eating it like it's like it's tofu. Oh, it's here. Love butter. Like whatever. Like if that's what it's going to take, I don't mind. But she isn't. She doesn't go for sugar. She doesn't go for sweet. She goes for fruits. You can tell the weight is because of how obviously how she eats and what she likes. Yes. She's getting full on fruits. Yeah. She's getting full on water rich.

30:46 Right. Foods, basically. So, you know, so I'm not super worried. But of course, you know, we want to pay attention to it. So when we got out of there, we figured, OK, we'll try some new strategies and try to juice things up and increase the calorie intake. But the whole thing of, yeah, her head shrunk. I'm like, come on, lady. She's really bad with the dwarf now. Yeah, like, come on. And then we had to. So we were going to go back in two weeks. Because they want to see you again to make sure that it's not some kind of a weird trend. But it was also right around this time that all of a sudden she became very interested in jewelry. Excuse me? Jewelry. Oh, God, you're in trouble. No kidding.

31:26 Because I have I have a sister who has the kind of collection that belongs in an Egyptian museum of of all kinds of jewelry, huge jewelry girl. So and she's been just waiting for some child to share a lot of jewelry. So all of a sudden, like every morning, I'm, you know, I'm having my coffee and I'm on my computer and the baby wakes up. Kelly comes out and she's got, you know, Kelly just found some old costume jewelry. So good. So she's got necklaces on. It's like with a baby with jewelry. She looks like Mr. T. That's so good. 32:08 She's like necklace. I need a photo of this. Oh, I'm sure all her stuff. I need photos. So, yeah. So all of a sudden that has become a real thing. Wow. And then because there's the interest, then we show up, we go to mass. And my sister, who is very interested in jewelry, is always wearing jewelry. Now she sees there's an opening. So now she's bringing jewelry. She's a dealer. She's a dealer now. Exactly. And now little baby Josie is literally like, I like that. Like she's like ring. That's a bracelet. Like she's taking the clarity of this doesn't want to give it doesn't want to give it back.

32:49 So she's like, well, she can. I'm like, no, you can't like you can't start letting her take the jewelry off of you. This this is how it starts. I it's just it's like out of nowhere. It's like I like jewelry. And it is. I mean, interested, but honestly, it started with some there's some toy like a stackable toy that was like squares with circles cut in the middle. And she would just put them on like bracelets. So, yeah. So all of the like these things that just appear. That's in her behavior. So, yeah. All of a sudden she's very, very into jewelry. So by now it's like, you know, we're into Fourth of July weekend.

33:30 Fourth of July. And we really we weren't sure what we were going to do. But we know there's a really nice fireworks display in Brewerton right at the lake. And where we keep the boat is literally like our slip is the perfect spot is literally you can just sit on the back of the boat and literally right there is this great fireworks display. So we thought, OK, well, maybe what we'll do. The problem is it's when you when you're there after the fireworks, there's so much traffic, so many people come. You're like, it takes you three hours to get home and we're 10 minutes away. So we're like, you know, we'll just stay on the boat.

34:11 Like we'll either either sleep there or we'll stay until like midnight. And then you make an evening of it because, you know, traffic's going to be worse. Yeah. And so so we got some sausages from Spears and peppers and onions. We'll go out there. We'll cook dinner. We'll hang out. We'll watch the watch the fireworks. It would be great. And then, of course, Kelly being very mindful. Well, it is loud. So we got a little baby ear protection earmuffs. So we're all ready to go. It's getting to be dusk. And she the baby is like there's already people, you know, setting off fireworks. And she's like, you know, looking around and then she falls asleep and the fireworks start.

34:53 And and at first we're like, well, should we put the put the head and say, well, we'll see the fireworks. The whole thing goes off. She's slept through the whole thing. As loud as it was. Didn't even wake her up. I'm going to say something. You can cut this. She probably thought it was you sleeping. You got to remember it. I don't snore anymore. I know, I know. Thanks to the CPAP. It's just a good joke that I went through. As you did. That was before my CPAP. Okay, back to the story. But that's funny. But yes. No, she yeah. But she's just like slept right through it, slept right through it. But it was still we had a nice time. There were a bunch of people on the dock. It was the first time in my whole life with anyone that I had ever worn a matching outfit.

35:41 I had a matching. Doesn't it feel so good? It was so cute. I used to make fun of them. It was like she has this little jumper and it's red and white checkered. It was red and white check. And it had little Minnie mouses on it. And then Kelly found me this shirt. So I look like a giant picnic table. Red and white, but with little Mickey Mickey mouses. So I had Mickey. She had Minnie. And I'm walking around. Kelly wasn't in. Kelly was in a Disney themed 4th of July themed thing. But she did not match. Not all three matching would be. That would be a new level. That would be something. But it was fun.

36:22 And we're walking up and down the dock. And everybody went, oh, look at that match. But yeah, so it was cute. But it was a really nice, it was a nice 4th of July. Other than the only thing that I still always don't understand whenever there's stuff like that, especially with boating. There's a boat across the way in the marina. So they're like, you know, 30 yards away, 40 yards away. Four or five people on a big, very, probably a half a million dollar boat. Very nice boat. Four or five people playing music so loud. I can't hear the music on my boat. Right. And so loud that they're yelling at each other to hear each other.

37:05 What are we doing here? And I just can't hear it. And I look at Kelly. She's always like, I'm like, I just want to walk over there and be like, hey, can you help me understand, like, why, why, what are we doing here? Why do you want to do that? Why do you want music on so loud that you can't hear each other? And I don't, I just don't understand that. I mean, we all had, we all had loud stereos in our car. When we were growing up, that was a big thing, right? Right. Putting the speakers in our cars. Yeah, yep. And I get it a little bit, but was it ever like that? No, because we used to talk to each other, right? If you're alone in the car, you played your music loud.

37:45 But if you're with people, you're not going to go, hey guys, everybody just, we're going to not hear each other for the next four hours. I don't want to talk to you, but let's hear Toby Keith. I never understood that. It's the same idea of driving down the street and you hear these cars, the radios in your car is clear as if you were playing. How could you drive? I couldn't do that. Everything's shattering. Everything in the car is going. The bolts are coming off. Yeah, I don't understand. I don't understand. Boating, you can talk to each other. And what are you doing? What else are you doing there? Unless you're all singing and dancing. Look, boats, motors are loud. Right, you have to do extra stuff.

38:26 I don't even understand that, right? When people are like chugging by with these boats that are, you know, a thousand horsepower and you can't, they're in idle and you can't hear each other. But you could make the argument that it makes the boat go fast and that's what you want to do. Okay, right. But the music on top of it is just, yeah, blows my mind. What I don't understand with the noise thing is with going to cars. Sounds like nowadays, the younger crowd, these cars want their cars to sound like when we were young and we had muffler problems, right? Like we, I used to hate that. The gurgle. Yeah, that now they're like, oh, I'm going to pay for that. I'm going to, I want that sound. Yes.

39:07 I just, I don't understand. Literally my last Audi that I had had that feature where you. Different sounds, right? Yeah. You turn the mode, you change the mode. It opens up the exhaust and it makes it louder and makes it sound a little gurgly when it downshifts. Yeah, it's, I remember growing up and be like, your muffler needs to be fixed. You're making too much noise. Right. You get a ticket. Yeah. Now you get a, you get a prize. Yeah, you get a thumbs up. Yeah, I don't know. We sound really old. Yeah, we sound like really old men. Listen, we've been on boats. Yeah. We had the music up. We sing, we, you know, we, we like loud things. We grew up in music, but something like the story isn't to be about the loud music is it's so loud that the people on there have to scream to each other to hear.

39:52 So obviously you want to talk to each other because you're still, you're screaming. So just put the music a little down and you can talk. Right. I have nothing wrong with music. Because you know that they can't possibly be thinking I'm doing a public service by playing my music because these other people, they don't have stereos on their boats. I'm doing my job. So I'm trying to pitch in. For the late. By, yeah, by playing Party in the USA at 93 decibels. Yeah. We do sound old, but it has nothing to do with the volume. It has something to do with volume. And also we're going to try to be normal and have a discussion over this. Yes. No, that's foolish. Yeah, it was kind of. That's foolish. It's kind of goofy. But so anyway, so we talk, we basically, we had a very nice 4th of July.

40:36 Calm down. You know, after afterwards we just hung out. Did you end up staying there? We stayed until about midnight. Oh, okay. Baby fell asleep in the cabin and we kind of hung out for a while. And then we thought, well, we'll just, we'll go home rather than spend the night there. So closed up and drove home and no, no traffic or any problems, especially now they're, they're redoing the bridge there. So there's some construction you got to go through, but it was very nice. 4th of July. I had a great time. And then the following weekend we had visits from uncle David and auntie Gabe, Kelly's brother and sister-in-law. Yep. And they came for, they actually came for a concert.

41:17 They came to see, they are big fans of Weird Al and Weird Al played at the amphitheater. He did. Yes. So they went to, they had like third row, like great seats. They're big, big Weird Al fans. The funny part for me was David though had to work. So they came like on Thursday or Friday and he had to work during the day. So they drove out, spent the night and then he had to work that day. And then the concert was that night. So, and he forgot his laptop. So that's how he works. Yes, he works. Actually the team that he works with, he's like a senior software architect. And the team he works with is overseas somewhere.

41:57 Like in a different completely, he's got to have his computer. So he asked if he could work here. Absolutely. So I set him up to work in my office and I just worked up at the kitchen table. But what I didn't think about is they have, as we talked about in the past, I have had somewhat challenging relationship with my mother-in-law, his mom. And at the one point we talked about the envelope that I showed you, where she addressed an Easter card to an incorrect name. She had hyphenated my daughter's name with my lovely wife's maiden name, which I did not take well.

42:43 So that's not her name. No, it is not her name. But I was able, I luckily, I did not react. But I did, as a little reminder, I put it, I saved the envelope, I put in a frame and it's on my desk. Oh God, that's funny. And I completely forgot. Here's my office you can use. Here's my office and there's... Enjoy everything around you. Right in the center of like a 30-inch monitor is a framed envelope in his mother's handwriting. He must have really loved that handwriting. He didn't say anything about it. He left a little note. Thank you. Yeah, he knows what's going on. I thought that was fine, but we had a very nice visit with them. And they actually went out, a lot of boating this summer, went out of the boat with us on the next day and had a very nice weekend.
